Renée Turner

Renée Turner is an artist and Senior Research Lecturer at the Willem de Kooning Academy.

Her current research areas are: digital narratives in relation to cultural heritage, memory and archives, political art and design, DIY and tactical media, feminisms and critical approaches to art and design pedagogy.

She was a resident at Skowhegan, the Rijksakademie and a researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academy. Next to this, she has been awarded grants from the Institute of Creative Technology, The Creative Industry Funds NL and the Mondriaan Fund.

She is on the Editorial Board of the academic journal, Art, Design and Communication in Higher Education. As a part of the RASL research steering group, she sees the collaboration between the Erasmus University, Codarts and the Willem de Kooning Academy as a unique opportunity to bring diverse disciplines together and create new forms of knowledge and practices.
