Tamara Rumiantsev is at present concluding her PhD research at University of Leiden (Faculty of Social Sciences), on collaborative work forms in higher music education. She has a great sense of responsibility for the education of young artists, their preparation for professional practice and connection to society.
As a performing musician (piano) she was involved in chamber music, accompanying, solo performance and in interdisciplinary projects with a dancer and designer. She favoured performances in non-traditional settings and in public space. She made various recordings for radio and television and as a soloist recorded for Briljant Classics and Emergo Records with various musical styles.
As a senior teacher at the Utrecht School of the Arts she taught various subjects, including ensembles and repertoire studies, professional musicianship, and was a research supervisor in the Master of Music. She had set up the entire Master of Music from scratch, and build it into program in which many international students took part. Furthermore, she was part of the Utrecht conservatoire’s board of directors for a period of six years.
At present, she is working at Codarts as Head of Educational Innovation.
