Research
Each student at Codarts is also trained in research, as a Double Degree student you will receive your academic research training at the university. 60EC of elective courses and research related courses will be fulfilled by Arts & Culture Studies courses, allowing you to finish the programme in five years.

 

RASL minor: Re-imagining tomorrow through Arts and Sciences
Double Degree students will follow the RASL minor (15EC).  In this minor, students from various fields and backgrounds develop theoretical competences in the areas of Transdisciplinary research and together with teachers and societal partners, a setting is created in which theory and practice, and academic and artistic practices interact to identify and reframe a complex societal issue.

The programme of Arts and Culture Studies is 180EC and consists of the following:

 

Compulsory courses
The first three years of the programme consists of compulsory courses. You gain a thorough grounding to study the world of art, culture and media. What are the central theoretical concepts with which culture scientists work? What historical, sociological and economic aspects are important for art and culture? And how are they related? You will be given an introduction into the transmission of art and culture, art and culture policy and the organization of art and cultural institutions. More information about the programme.

 

Entrepreneurship
Double Degree students will follow an Entrepreneurship minor (15EC) designed by Erasmus University introducing students to both theoretical and practical aspects of (cultural) entrepreneurship in year 4 of the programme.
