DESCRIPTION:Re-imagining Tomorrow’s Water Sounds and Words through the Arts and Sciences\nRASL workshop\n17-18-19 November\, Erasmus University College\, Rotterdam\nThe RASL Winter Studio 2022 is a three-day transdisciplinary workshop in collaboration with Roma3 University. \n\nFor this interactive project we aim to combine different cultures\, languages and sounds. The research theme wants to explore the interaction between words and music in songs belonging to different linguistic and musical traditions with its emotional impact on audiences as well as performers. Specifically the event is structured around the cultural relevance of water\, the neuroscience of sounds and acoustic ecology. At the end of the three-day session\, participants will present their contributions in a collective open concert. \n\nParticipants will be mentored by: Maddalena Pennacchia\, Stefano Nencha and Stefano Nunzi. Maddalena Pennacchia is a full professor of English Literature at the Department of Foreign Languages Literatures and Cultures (LLCS) of Roma Tre University and a skilled singer. Stefano Nencha and Stefano Nunzi are renowned jazz musicians on the Italian jazz scene and they both teach in Rome. Guest professors include Chris Müller (EUC) and Josue’ Amador Valdez (Codarts). \n\nThe event will take place from Thursday 17th to Saturday 19th of November at Erasmus University College in Rotterdam (Nieuwemarkt 1A). The programme will feature: \n  \n\nExpert Talks | Leading researchers will talk about recent research in their discipline: dance (Vicky Fischer MA)\, music/dance therapy (Dr. Ditty Dokter)\, classical music (Job ter Haar\, PhD candidate)\, pop music (Julian Schaap\, PhD candidate) and education (Dr. Thomas De Baets).\nPlay & Present | Entertaining and informative research-based performances from the fields of music\, dance\, circus\, arts therapies and arts education\, given by distinguished Codarts students.\nResearch Competition | Selected Codarts Master students Perform & Present their research before a jury and compete for the first prize of € 500 and second prize of € 250. Winning Master of Music students are eligible to participate in the national Master of Music research competition on 16 May 2019 at Fontys\, Tilburg.\nJazz & Research | A special afternoon programme in the WMDC sheds light on research in jazz-improvisation. DESCRIPTION:If you are planning on attending university next year\, already know a bit about Liberal Arts and Sciences\, and are curious about whether Erasmus University College is the place for you\, then you are most welcome to come and visit one of the upcoming Experience EUC Days. \nDuring an Experience EUC Day you will attend a lecture\, participate actively in a Problem Based Learning tutorial\, meet the faculty\, visit the student housing and have plenty of time to ask all your questions about admissions\, the curriculum or student life. You will experience all of this together with other prospective students in EUC’s landmark building in the city centre of Rotterdam. \nParents and friends are welcome to attend an information session at the beginning of an Experience Day and have a tour of the facilities. \nFor the academic year 2018-9 the Experience EUC Day will be held on the following dates: \n– 21 September 2018 \n– 26 October 2018 \n– 22 February 2019 \n– 26 April 2019 \nRegistration for the events will be available closer to the date. \nFor more information please see the EUC page here.
